CLOSING DOCUMENTS
Q: Can I get copies of the documents I signed at closing?
A: "You absolutely have the right to get copies of all the documents that you signed at closing. Not only did you pay for them as part of your closing, by law it's required that you have copies of what you signed. So, you should be asking for a copy of the title commitment to insure your property, and you should be asking for all the documents you signed, including the note and the mortgage and all of the loan documents that you signed."

CLOSING DISCLOSURE (CD)/ HUD STATEMENT
Q: What is the Closing Disclosure (CD) or HUD Statement?
A: "Well, the closing disclosure, which was formerly known as the HUD Closing Statement, it basically is the summary of all the costs or expenses that are involved in buying the property. So if you're buying with a loan, it'll typically reflect your lender charges. It will always reflect any title charges to be able to insure the property, but in short, the closing disclosure is just that. It's a disclosure of all the closing costs involved in your transaction."
